Togo

Togo, located in Western Africa, is officially known as the Togolese Republic. French is the official language of Togo. The economy of Togo, along with most of the workforce, relies highly on subsistence agriculture. Coffee, cocoa and cotton are the main cash crops of the country. Other crops include rice, yams, cassava, corn, millet, beans and sorghum. Livestock are raised including goats, sheep, hogs and cattle. It is a member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Main industries of Togo are phosphate mining, handicrafts, agricultural processing, cement, textiles and beverages.
